Our work follows a developmental journey. It begins by finding and understanding existing innovations, then builds the structures needed to share, strengthen and sustain them
Seeds of Innovation
The project begins with the people, practices and projects already responding creatively to challenges in Foundation Phase teacher education.
These seeds may be found in different institutional, classroom and community contexts. Each one offers an opportunity to learn more about what innovation looks like, how it develops and what makes it effective.
Case Narrative Generation
We develop rich case narratives focused on innovative people, projects and places. These narratives go beyond describing activities: they capture context, experience, learning, evidence and the conditions that helped an innovation take root.
The case narratives make practical knowledge visible and allow it to be shared across the wider teacher education community.
Knowledge Curation and Reporting
The case narratives and wider project learning are brought together through the Seeds of Transformation Report and an ongoing process of knowledge curation.
This work helps organise emerging insights, identify common themes and make valuable knowledge accessible for further learning, collaboration and development.
Foundation Phase Teacher Guild
The Foundation Phase Teacher Guild will create a national professional community for Foundation Phase teacher educators. The Guild will provide opportunities to:
- connect with colleagues across institutions;
- exchange knowledge and practical experience;
- discuss shared challenges;
- learn from innovative work;
- strengthen professional relationships; and
- contribute to the future of Foundation Phase teacher education.
Our Innovation Wheel
Our Innovation Wheel illustrates the interconnected areas that guide how Seeds of Transformation develops ideas, supports collaboration and creates meaningful, sustainable impact.
Showcasing Conference
The Showcasing Conference will provide a platform for sharing project learning, celebrating innovation and bringing members of the national community into conversation.
It will create space for the presentation of case narratives, reflection on emerging insights and discussion about how promising practices can be adapted and sustained in different settings.
Online Platform for Teacher Education
The online platform will extend access to the project’s knowledge, connections and resources. It will support ongoing engagement and provide a digital space where teacher educators can discover case narratives, exchange ideas and participate in a growing professional community.
Postgraduate Diploma in Foundation Phase Teacher Education
The project’s accumulated knowledge, networks and learning will inform the development of a Postgraduate Diploma in Foundation Phase Teacher Education.
The qualification will build on real challenges, practical evidence and the diverse knowledge generated through the Seeds of Transformation community.
